The Tarner World Festival - 4th September , The Tarner World Festival on 4th September began with a procession from the Millwood and Phoenix Centres, and culminated at Richmond Parade with dance, music and food.

Murder of Jay Abatan , the Sussex Police have increased the reward to £175,000 for information leading to the conviction of those responsible. The murder took place between 2.30 and 3.30 am on Sunday, January 24th 1999 outside Hanover's Ocean Rooms Nightclub. Contact the Police on 0845 60 70 999 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Hanover Day , The Hanover Day 2004 celebrations passed off without a hitch, and everyone seemed to agree that the event was a great success. The day began as usual with the congregation of the Annunciation Church joining the Fancy Dress Parade through the streets of Hanover. There were stalls lining Washington Street and Coleman Street, and other attractions included live music, food and drink, a fire engine (and fire-fighters) to admire, clown, jugglers, stilt-walkers, Morris Men and, of course, Hanover’s famous pubs. A big thank you to the Brighton Morris Men for their donation of £600.00 to HCA.They collected the money during their ‘Day of Dance’ earlier this year and presented the cheque on Hanover Day. We will be putting the money towards improvements to the Community Centre. The continued support of the Brighton Morris Men and their long association with the Hanover Centre is much appreciated. Special thanks also to Magpie who recycled waste during the day, and to the Council’s street cleaning team who tidied up afterwards.
