Three days of FREE workshops, taster sessions, masterclasses and performances as part of BBC BLAST! Blast is the BBCs scheme to help you get creative. Whatever youre in to Art, Music, Writing, Filmmaking, Dance or more we can help you to go further. Blast is designed for all abilities. Whether youre trying something creative for the first time or an emerging artist who wants to take things to the next level we can help. Whats Blast on Tour? News of local musicians Brighton Jazz Club For latest news of jazz events see www.brightonjazzclub.co.uk or send mail to Hanover Community Music Group You need to be able to read music to join the band, but people of all ages playing all instruments welcome to play all sorts of music, Saturdays 3 - 5 pm. Beginners also welcome - 2 - 3 pm, contact Cynthia on (01273) 687303 The Crawfish Scrapers play Cajun, old time, and Irish music, four core members plus guests play fiddles, banjo, guitar and triangle! Owing to the closure of the Queens Park Tavern The Crawfish Scrapers are currently looking for a pub willing to host their weekly music session. Any offers or suggestions to please. Recently formed Hanover Band The Curst Sons have been packing venues recently. The three piece describe themselves as Hillbilly swamp rock blues. For details of gigs (also see above) or booking the band e-mail (tape available) www.simner.co.uk Hanover residents the Blownapart band could be described as playing "Irish" music, though they do stuff from all over the place in their set - Jewish, Swedish, American etc. Instruments used include: Fiddles, Mandolin, Guitar,Whistles & Bodhran (Irish Drum) /Percussion. There are five regular members of the band but they often have guests & new players are most welcome...
