Phoenix Arts Association (PAA) is a charitable arts organisaion based in central Brighton. It provides studio spaces for over eighty artists working in all fine and applied arts media, and runs a gallery and education programme which brings together professional artists and the general public in a wide range of activities and events. Phoenix Gallery shows a wide range of comtemporary visual arts exhibitions and events by artists in all stages of their careers. Many exhibitions are accompanied by talks or workshops, and visitors can usually meet and speak with the exhibitors. | |||||
One of the priorities of PAA is to provide greatly needed production facilities at an affordable rate to artists and the public. There are artists in all stages of their careers working on the site, including practitioners of sculpture, printmaking, painting, photography, design, architecture, ceramics, installation, performance and other fine and applied arts. | |||||
Future development - PAA recently purchased Wellesley House, the building it currently occupies. Developments will include new studios, the creation of workshop space, large-scale arts production area and the refurbishment of the facade.
